About Us

We are a non-profit organization whose goal is to bring comfort to frightened children. Every day, children are thrust into a scary and traumatic situation. We desire to ease that pain by providing comfort companions or "critters" that can be with them, even when a parent cannot. Our stuffed animals can bring a sense of security, ease loneliness, reduce stress, help with grief, and aid in healing from trauma.

Branching out

With the increased support, we have decided to branch out and reach more people in our community. We now offer comfort critters to the elderly in memory care units and Comfort kits to domestic violence shelters. Our kits provide a change of clothes and a bear for those who must leave urgently with only the clothes on their backs.

How we began

I have always believed that this world would be better if everyone did one small thing. With that in mind, I began this nonprofit after seeing a children's hospital. I was deeply grieved by the number of sick children needing care. I decided I must do something to help those children. Bringing them comfort was the first thing that came to mind. I knew the children were frightened and, at times, alone. That's when comfort critters was born. Now, our critters are bringing comfort to children all around our community.
